Best Horse Riding academy In Town

Maharajkumari Gayatri Devi Puravi Riding Academy was established to recharge the human-horse bond through Horse Riding and Equestrian Sports in Mysore, by Deepa Malini Devi & Jaideep Bhale Rao both ardent Horse lovers in the year 2012

With twelve Thoroughbred Race horses and an experienced trainer, to date, we have produced three National Champion riders and five qualifiers.

Horse riding refreshes the body and mind of the rider. Children love the fresh air activity and the connection with a living, sensitive animal, the horse.

The Academy provides training programs in Riding, Show Jumping and Dressage. Be it a novice or a professional, there is a custom-tailored package for everyone. Weekend riding classes can be scheduled. Pony rides are available for children aged between 5 & 7. We offer a free, Introductory ride before booking a training program.

We also offer Horse Stabling facilities for Horse Trainers, Owners & Riders. The stables are spacious (12ft x 12 ft) and well ventilated, and an Arena with sand, designed for Show Jumping & Dressage with an area of 70m x 40m.

We have trained over 100 Syces in Horse Riding thus enabling them for a better lifestyle. 14 of these Syces have become Riding Boys now working in Japan, New Zealand, Dubai and Qatar.

Our Team

Deepa Malini Devi is the daughter of Maharajkumari Gayatri Devi, the eldest daughter of H H Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, Maharaja of Mysore. The Wadiyar dynasty founded in 1399 is famous for its enlightened rule and development of the State of Mysore. Advancement in various sectors like education, construction, banking, health and industrial took place during their reign. Acknowledging her love of horses, Deepa Malini Devi named the Riding School after her mother. The term “Puravi” translates into Horse from the original Dravidian language of South India.

Jaideep Bhale Rao is the seventeenth generation descendant of the Rajas of Pedapavani. They belong to the Warrior clan known as Padmanayaka Velama Doras of Andhra Pradesh. They have a recorded history of a thousand years, ruling independent kingdoms while supporting the Kakatiya dynasty and the Vijaynagar Empire. The clan was victors in the famous Palnadu & Bobbilli wars. The principle they followed was victory or a brave death in battle. The Venkatgiri and Bobbilli Polo Teams were regular winners in Polo matches. Jaideep’s Grand-uncle the Raja of Kolanka has gifted the world’s largest silver trophy to Pol, a feat recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Meet Our Trainer

Uday Parakkila is a second dan Black belt in Karate. A student of Kadihai Martial Academy who has found his life’s passion in Horses. Over the past decade, he has trained our thoroughbred horses in show jumping and dressage. With regular participation in the Equestrian Federation of India events, he has produced three National Champion riders and five qualifiers. Along with this significant achievement he has also trained a rider who astride our horse was placed 77th in Category C of the 2022 FEI World Jumping Challenge.

Training at MGDPRA under the guidance of Uday Sir has been a game changer for my show jumping journey. The expert guidance, freedom to ask as many questions, supportive team, and a happy happy environment to train has elevated my skills and confidence.

From joining as just a beginner struggling just to clear the course in the competitions today I am a confident equestrian able to mount and ride any horse , winning a medal in every competition during the year and also closed the year 2023 by winning the championship award by Embassy International Riding School-Bangalore.
